Status Codes - Overview

 

Overview and Guidelines

AF

  • Used by AA to indicate Aadvantage free ticket.
  • No action required.

CG

  • Passenger purchased business class - boarded in First or coach class.
  • This code is only on American Airlines flights.

DL

  • Deferred from waitlist
  • Must be cancelled and re-listed.

FS

  • Sell Insurance segment and include data fields.
  • FS prints on Invoice/Itinerary as a confirmed segment.

GF

  • Firm booking
  • Merged from host system for a SEA or TOR segment.

GK

  • When shown with a MGCARRIER code, it indicates a confirmed booking merged from a multi- access host
  • Note: Some carriers elect to receive notification when passive segments are canceled.

    To avoid sending a cancel message, use the XK formats:

  • .1XK

GN

  • Indicates Group booking.
  • PNR is viewable only.
  • No action or Claim It allowed.

GO

  • "Option" booking merged from host system for a SEA or TOR segment.

HK

  • Holds confirmed status.

HN

  • Holds Need (space not confirmed, verify with carrier)
  • Appears in a PNR booked through the carrier and transmitted to the Sabre system.
  • Treat this action code the same as action code HL

HQ

  • Space already requested.
  • 12 hours has not elapsed yet.

HX

  • Was Holding Confirm/Now Cancelled..
  • Indicates a segment cancelled through the carrier or associate.
  • Cancel this segment by using the letter X followed by the segment number.
  • Contact carrier directly for possible fee if you do not cancel the HX segment.
  • For more information, see Status Code HX - Agency Actions.

IG

  • Involuntary upgrade.
  • For airline use only.
  • Carrier may also use status code YG.

IQ

  • Re-sends the PQ to the Insurance vendor, if no response.

KK

KL

KQ

  • Confirmed insurance policy quote.
  • A printed itinerary including an insurance segment quote.
    Note: This is a segment quote only.

MM

  • Meal listed.
  • This status appears in reservations for non-revenue passengers on American Airlines.
  • It means a waitlisted segment for AA employees or travel industry special passenger.
  • There is no action required from a travel agent.

NO

  • No action taken.
  • You must cancel the segment and request an alternate flight.
  • If NO status is returned by an airline on a previously confirmed segment, it may indicate that Sabre system's and the airline's PNRs do not match.  Contact the carrier to validate the PNR data.  
  • Note: For more information, see Overview - Direct Connect Hotel.

NS

  • No show.
  • Airline use only.
  • No further action required.

OX

  • When the following hotel segment shows a new CF number, remove by Changing Segment Status to XK.
  • When the following hotel segment shows UN or UC,change segment status to HK to retain the original booking. See details.

PK

  • Passenger was boarded on Agency Discount or an AAdvantage (American Airlines) free travel ticket.
  • No action required

PN

  • Pending need.
  • Message previously sent to carrier, and now awaiting reply.
  • The Sabre system will automatically resend the request if the carrier does not reply within 24 hours.
  • Do not treat this code as confirmed space.
  • The airline must send status KK for confirmation; if you do not receive the KK confirmation, please contact the carrier for status.

PQ

  • Changes from NQ to indicate pending insurance segment.
  • A printed itinerary with insurance segment not confirmed.

QF

  • The QF status code is intended for use in testing and developing applications on Sabre® Air.
  • It allows you to sell a flight without impacting a carrier's inventory and to quote or price a fare from this segment.

RR

  • Reconfirmed through the carrier.
  • Used primarily on international travel.

SB

  • Passenger boarded standby.
  • Airline use only.
  • No action required.

SC

SS

  • Sabre system response.
  • The segment sold through the Sabre system, or a Sell message sent to the carrier.

TK

TL

TN

  • Schedule change – the segment Is On Request/Holds Need.
  • Advise the passenger and change segment status to IN.

UC

  • Unable to confirm or waitlist.
  • Cancel the segment and request an alternate flight

UN

  • Unable – flight not operating.
  • Cancel the segment and request an alternate flight
    Note: We do not recommend that you use passive cancel to remove a UN segment.  When you change the status to XK (such as .1XK), some carriers charge segment fees.  Check the Airline Online DRS or check directly with the carrier for airline policy.
  • Contact the carrier for re- accommodation if ticketed.  In case of problem with a schedule change after you have ticketed, contact the airline directly.

  • Confirmed/no longer confirmed due to a schedule change.
  • Cancel this segment using the letter X followed by the segment number.

WL

  • You book the segment directly with the carrier. Was waitlisted but now is no longer waitlisted due to a schedule change.
  • Cancel this segment using the letter X followed by the segment number.

WN

  • Was needed but no longer on request due to a schedule change.
  • Cancel this segment using the letter X followed by the segment number.

XM

  • Segment cancelled due to misconnect.
  • Appears in history only
  • No further action required.

YG

  • Involuntary Upgrade.
  • For carrier use only.
  • Purchased Coach but boarded in Business or First Class. No action taken.
